Introducing Vielle to market
Back in the day when sex toys were under the counter, and I was a young designer I worked on the branding for a ‘medicinal clitoral stimulator’.  It had to appeal not to the young but the older lady, who had found that in her ageing years, she may need a bit more help to enjoy an active sex life. It was to be sold in high street pharmacies and Boots – the UK’s most popular chemist. This is what I did, and ten years later it’s still being sold there…
The logo was hand drawn and symbolises a friendly-approachable brand that appeals to the audience. The press ads were the first of their nature to appear in the Sunday Supplements, as opening talking about sex in advertising was still very heavily sanctioned. We were told that we couldn't advertise on TV.
